It seems like the auto industry has as many leaks as the US government. Time after time, sketches and renderings of concept cars are accidentally revealed online. This time, the Infiniti Emerg-E electric coupe concept has been leaked.
Infiniti has talked about a new roadster for some time, with an actual vehicle possibly coming to the Geneva Motor Show in March. The released sketch shows Infiniti Emerg-E as a curved, futuristic two-door body, covering up an advanced drivetrain.
Charles Barker Infiniti shoppers in Virginia Beach, VA will have to possibly wait years for a production model, possibly not until 2013 and 2014, though many are anxious after this reveal. "If the Infiniti Emerg-E concept evolves into a production car, don't expect it to launch for another year or so," according to reports.1
Emerg-E will drive mostly on electricity alone, and borrow the 80-kW electric motor and lithium-ion battery from Nissan Leaf. A 1.2-liter range extending engine will be mid-mounted in Emerg-E, improving the car's balance.
