The auto world is filled with rumors regarding the future of Infiniti. The automaker recently trademarked a few new models, "G35h," "G22d," and "G30t," which have many fans enthused about the possibility of new hybrid, diesel, and (possibly) turbo-charged or touring vehicles. Of course, these are all current models, so it's likely that we will see their hybrid counterparts in the near future.
The current Infiniti G35 grew from the Infiniti G37 line and added the Infiniti G25 line last year. The G35 is a tough competitor for the BMW 3-Series, and if the new G35h is a hybrid option, we could see it by 2014. It will most likely be smaller and lighter than the only current Infiniti hybrid- the Infiniti M35h
We're pretty certain the new G22d will be a diesel version, as Infiniti diesel varieties are very popular in Europe, and the G line hasn't yet featured a diesel engine. It will likely feature the OM651 diesel, which is built in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz.
The "t" in the new G30t name could stand for "turbo," but likely stands for a "touring" Infiniti. However, with a new M274 turbo engine built in conjunction with Mercedes-Benz, a turbo becomes a more probable option.
Of course, this is all guesswork at the moment, but Charles Barker Infiniti, conveniently located at 1875 Laskin Road Virginia Beach, VA, is certainly looking forward to see what our favorite luxury brand has "up their sleeves."
